“I first began my journey into the world of energetic work years and years ago when my friend asked me to be her ‘patient’ as part of her Acupuncture training. At the time I was serving in the US Navy as an analyst and continued learning more about Chinese medicine through my own reading and workshops. Many analytical jobs and years of personal growth later, I decided to apply my skills in a way that would feed my soul and help people on a more personal level to heal.

I found the perfect solution in a Medical Qigong program taught locally at The East Coast Institute of Medical Qigong. Qigong (Chee-gung) is the oldest form of Chinese Energetic Medicine. It is a highly refined system of exercises and meditations that develop our ability to acquire, store, circulate, and purify our Qi or Vital Energy – that which is the force behind all movement and function in our body, mind and spirit.
Through a diligent practice of Qigong, we can use our mind as a tool to direct the flow of electrical signals and energetic currents that make up our body, mind and emotions, thus, leading to a greater sense of mastery over our mental, physical and emotional health as well as a greater resistance to everyday stresses and illnesses.
Medical Qigong is the application of Qigong for medical purposes. As a Medical Qigong Practitioner, I assist with a person’s healing by redirecting, cleansing and restoring their vital energy. Medical Qigong is based on the principles of Chinese Medicine that all disease and illness has its root in dysfunctional energetic patterns. I use breath, various hand movements and mental images to change those patterns and give the body what it energetically needs to heal itself.
